HOUSTON--Acadian on Watch opened its new hot redundant center in Houston June 2, to be called America on Watch. The new center is capable of running full or partial staff and maintaining up-to-the minute records.
After Hurricane Katrina, Acadian began the process of designing and building a regional redundant center that would be bi-directional. Its two centers, one in La. and one here, are now hot redundant .
According to Blane Comeaux, vice president of Acadian on Watch, "Both centers are redundant to each other 24/7."
The bi-directional advanced setup will eliminate any monitoring interruptions caused by disasters related to weather or other emergency situations. The new center will monitor accounts in 45 states. According to a release from DICE, it is the first of its kind in the industry: "a fully redundant, bi-directional monitoring center that handles all alarm signals nationwide, regardless of weather, terrorism or other threats."
The new center will monitor accounts in 45 states.
