Acme gets into managed video, national accounts

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--Acme Protective Services, a full-service security company and monitoring station is gearing up to expand its “participation in managed video systems and managed access systems,” according to Acme president Don Nelder.

In business here since 1930, and under current ownership since 1972, Protective serves a variety of commercial, industrial, institutional and residential clients. “In short the whole spectrum of customers,” Nelder said.

Nelder has hired Colin Bell, who has relocated from Great Britain, to oversee and strengthen Protective's managed video and access systems business. “We felt that if we are going to be involved, we are going to do it correctly,” Nelder said.

Nelder also foresees more business in 2009 in national accounts. This business is the result of “customers who we deal with in Vancouver and British Columbia expanding their operations nationally” and customers based in other parts of Canada who want Protective to service security needs outside of Vancouver. “We have a number of such requests on the table at the current time, some of which reach Canada-wide.”
