ADT melds security and education

January 13, 2005 BOCA RATON, Fla. - ADT Security Services has been awarded a five-year contract by the state of Colorado to design and implement a security system for the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Science Center at Fitzsimons in Aurora, Colo. ADT will retrofit 10 current buildings with access control, video surveillance systems and related control equipment, and will design and install systems in new construction areas.  The company will also design and equip an on-site central command center for use by security personnel. The project calls for ADT to install at least 1,000 video surveillance cameras, dozens of digital video recorders and monitors, and a centralized access control system with card readers spread across the campus. In addition, ADT will maintain the systems after the installations are complete. By 2010, the campus is expected to be home to 30 facilities - a combination of hospitals, outpatient care, research centers, classrooms and administrative and support buildings.
