Aegis offshoots services business Security Support Center outsources system management

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Much as IBM has had success outsourcing IT services to corporations, Aegis Security Design has spun off a division that will provide outsourced security system management services. Security Support Center offers enterprise access control system administration, ID badging, training and orientation, incident reporting and case management, and compliance audits for Fortune 1000 companies. The company is looking for integrator partners as resellers of those services, as well. "I've talked to a number of integrators who've shown interest in this," said Brandon Reich, vice president of corporate development for SSC. Under their own brand, independent integrators can offer these services, such that, "If they're looking to put in a big Software House system, as a value add they can say, 'Not only can I install this, but I can administer it for you after that.'" Reich noted, "There's really a trend in corporate America toward outsourcing non-core business functions. We feel like we're developing a niche." The company evolved out of doing just that for Pepsi Bottling Group. Aegis designed their security system and managed the implementation. PBG didn't have the resources to administer the system, however, "so we developed this concept of the service support center," Reich said.
