Amag and SMI partner Brief

TORRANCE, Calif.--Amag Technology, an access control manufacturer, announced in early August a partnership with Smart Media Innovations, which will allow Amag's Symmetry Security Management System to be accessed with mobile devices like pocket PCs and PDAs. Essentially, these devices will be able to identify an individual cardholder using data, images and other biometrics. Users will be able to download data on a PDA with virtually any identity card that contains a number by which data can be indexed, including proximity cards, bar code cards, mag stripe cards, MIFARE, DESFIRE, and iCLASS. The software is installed right on the PDA.
