Andrews and Copstat fold into one guarding and systems house

VALENCIA, Calif.--Two full-service security and risk-management firms, the West Coast-based Andrews International and East Coast-based Copstat Security, merged this week. Under the new name Andrews International, the organization projects combined yearly revenues of $100 million and employs more than 4,000 security practitioners. Randy Andrews, founder and current chief executive officer of Andrew International, will continue as chief executive officer, with current Copstat chief executive officer Jim Wood now sharing chief operating officer and president duties with current Andrews chief executive officer Ty Richmond. The new Andrews provides uniform security, consulting and investigations, personal protection, special event security, training, alarm monitoring and response, as well as disaster and emergency response services throughout the country and internationally to Fortune 500 corporations. The companies maintain venerable client relationships that average more than 10 years, so the merge made sense, noted Andrews. It was "a natural progression as the similarities between our management philosophies and operations provide our clients a seamless, nationwide portfolio of security services and capabilities," said Andrews in a written statement.
