ST. LOUIS--Arteco Vision Systems, a developer of intelligent video solution systems, announced on Jan. 17 the release of a handheld mobile video application, ARTECO-MOBILE, which works in tandem with Intelligent Video Solutions (IVS) products.
ARTECO-MOBILE is a JAVA-based software designed for pocket PC's and SmartPhones which allows instant access to real-time video from a network-enabled ARTECO-IVS. Personnel can be notified not only via email or text message of a security event, but can use the same mobile phone to access live video to assess a situation. When IVS detects an event, it sends a real-time email to personnel with event details and a JPEG snapshot of the event taking place.
"ARTECO-MOBILE provides another integrated layer in reducing false alarms by allowing personnel in the field to view live real-time video from the same handheld web-enabled device that notifies them of the security even taking place," said Steve Birkmeier, vice president of Arteco in a prepared statement.
