Assa Abloy teams with Digital Horizon

ATLANTA--IP access control maker Digital Horizon Solutions announced on the show floor an integration with Assa Abloy's new Profile Series V.S2 standalone WiFi-controlled lock, creating a wireless networked access controlled solution. "We're the first company that's interfacing with it," said Mohsen Hekmatyar, vice president of sales at DHS. "There's quite a few applications where we're excited about this opportunity. It opens a lot of different markets for us." He said the education vertical, for example, makes a lot of sense, where they don't want to send cable out to all the doors, or an older residence where new cabling might ruin the character of a house. Hekmatyar said the lock technology was "relatively easy" to integrate with and he thought it would be fairly easy to combine the Assa and DHS training programs to get both integrator channels familiar with each others' products. Stanley Security Solutions released a similar wireless solution, the Wi-Q, here on the show floor.
