Axis and Convergint partner to complete two deals

CHELMSFORD, Mass.--Network video manufacturer Axis announced in August that its partnership with systems integrator Convergint Technologies has led to installation projects in education, healthcare and telecommunications facilities. Convergint installed Axis network cameras with power over Ethernet capabilities for the Pasadena Independent School District in Pasadena, Texas, and for the Swedish Hospital in Seattle. The Pasadena project includes approximately 200 Axis network cameras; the hospital installation includes more than 100 network cameras. Axis and Convergint entered Canada as partners for the first time in another deal, a network video installation for Telus, one of the largest Canadian telecommunications firm. "We recognized that the security business is moving toward IP-based technologies," said Dan Moceri, chief executive officer of Convergint, in a statement. "Axis is a major player in the heart of that space, and our partnership has enabled us to grow the security side of our business as the technology continues to shift. The Pasadena installation includes 32 elementary schools in the district. The Axis cameras at the Seattle hospital are used for security at the hospital's main campus near downtown Seattle.
