Axis opens training center

CHELMSFORD, Mass.--Axis Communications, network video provider, on Feb. 13 announced the opening of a new training center at its U.S. headquarters here for members of its Channel Partner Program. It will provide Axis Communications' Academy training to educate and certify partners on the ongoing technology shift from analog CCTV to IP-based video surveillance systems. "The courses offered by the Academy enable security and IT professionals to smoothly adopt network video and to learn about the new technology," Fredrick Nilsson, general manager of Axis Communications, said in a statement. The Mikael Karlsson Training Center was named in honor of one of Axis' founders, who passed away in 2005. The Academy's first monthly training session begins today, Feb. 14.
