Brink's, Inc., acquires security operations in eastern Europe

RICHMOND, Va.--In late April, The Brink's Company announced that subsidiaries of Brink's Inc., acquired certain security operations in eastern Europe from affiliates of Securitas AB.
The company purchased the cash handling and processing operations in Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic from Securitas for approximately $9 million.
Earlier this year, Brink's purchased Securicor Luxembourg S.A., a provider of manned guarding, alarm monitoring and response, and cash transportation and processing services in Luxembourg, and Group 4 Falck Cash Services UK Ltd., a cash-in-transit and cash processing service provider to the financial and retail markets in Scotland and northwest England, for $37.7 million. Officials at the company, which is based here, said the transaction was part of an effort to expand the company's presence in foreign markets.
