Brinks opens shop in Frederick, Md.

IRVING, Texas--Brink's Home Security opened a new office in September in Frederick, Md., to tap the recent surge in the housing market of Montgomery and Frederick Counties.
The new branch will handle territory previously covered by the firm's branch in Sterling, Va., and Lanham, Md. The office will be staffed with a sales force, technicians and administrative personnel.
According to Keith Patterson, vice president of Region Operations for the company, the new office will enhance local service. It will also reduce expenses by cutting down on drive times to the homes and businesses the company serves.
General Manager Brian Schmidt, who recently joined the company from Terminix International, will lead the office. Technical Manager John Weatherholtz will be in charge of the system installation and service of monitored security systems.
