City National Security Services of Los Angeles on Feb. 2 announced former CORT executive Cedric Sutherland as the firm's chief operating officer.
In his new role, Sutherland will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, and execute the company's strategic plan for growth and expansion. Since 1996, Sutherland has served as district general manager-retail and senior account executive for CORT, a Berkshire Hathaway company. During that time, he opened and staffed five clearance center concept stores in Los Angeles and increased sales by more than 500 percent in their first year of operation. Sutherland has also been a fixture in the community, serving as both president of the LAX Coastal Area Chamber of Commerce and the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Area Boosters Association.
