VANCOUVER, British Columbia--Contigo, a provider of turnkey GPS solutions for asset tracking, fleet management and personal safety, announced on April 30 that it was issued a U.S. Patent for monitoring the movements of mobile items.

Contigo’s patented method allows monitoring of the operations and location of mobile items using multiple forms of location-determining technology. The method allows access using a Web browser or thin client as an interface.

“We look forward to using this first patent as the springboard for innovations yet to come,” said John Tedesco, president and chief executive officer of Contigo in a prepared statement.

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued Contigo’s patent as U.S. Patent Number 7,327,258. Other patents are pending.
