Contractor to the integrator, FCI, to double service regions

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--One of the largest contractors to the security systems integrator is getting bigger, thanks to a cross-country expansion that will add up to 30 new markets to its long list of areas it already serves.
FCI Associates expects to add to its service area over the next 12 months. When completed, it will give the company a presence in more than 70 markets in the United States.
"There's a tremendous need," said Dan Fitch, chief executive officer of FCI Associates, for contract installers and service technicians. "The biggest advantage is consistency of installations, the one point of contact and the national capacity."
The expansion into key markets follows FCI Associates inking several new contracts with security systems integrators. Fitch could not disclose details about the new service contracts, but said the company's customers include integrators such as Siemens, HSM and Tech Systems.
There are few companies in the market with FCI's focus. Many of its competitors are small, local operations. FCI touts itself as only focusing on servicing contracts for systems integrators and that it has the capability to offer a national presence.
"The niche is you sell it, we'll install it and service it," said Fitch.
Not much has changed about FCI Associates' business model in 26 years, except one thing.
"We now have people located in primary markets," said Mike Buchart, business development director for FCI Associates.
