Convergint invests $350,000 for Social Responsibility Day

CHICAGO--More than 650 Convergint Technologies colleagues in 21 markets across North America volunteered a day’s work on June 20 to help address local community needs as part of the company’s annual Social Responsibility Day. Convergint executives estimate they invested more than $350,000 in labor and material costs across all 21 markets. “Convergint was founded on a set of core values and beliefs that guide our culture,” said Greg Lernihan, president and co-founder of Convergint, in a statement. “One of these values, ‘We believe in balanced lives: family, business, community,’ means that we are committed to creating a positive work and family environment and are dedicated to serving the communities in which we live and work.” This year’s activities included installing security video systems, testing fire alarm and life safety systems and numerous other projects. In Chicago, Convergint’s headquarters, some 55 colleagues will volunteer at the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls. Since its founding in 1887, the Mercy Home has provided shelter to more than 22,000 children. Projects include painting the indoor soccer field, landscaping and detailing the home’s vehicles.
