Counterforce increases its U.S. market share

April 29, 2004 HOUSTON - Counterforce USA, a security services provider here, is continuing to expand its North American market share with its purchase of a Detroit-based residential and commercial alarm company. Counterforce, a subsidiary of Chubb, acquired the assets of Acceptance Alarm at the end of March for an undisclosed amount - adding approximately 400 accounts to its portfolio. “Counterforce already had a fairly significant base of accounts in Detroit,” said Ron Davis, managing partner of Davis Marketing Group, who managed the transaction. He also mentioned that the acquisition allows Counterforce to build upon its account base. Linda Lindroff, the president of Acceptance Alarm, will continue in her current capacity, but the company will now conduct business under the Counterforce name. Davis noted at press time that he anticipates no other changes to the company’s day-to-day operations. According to Davis, Counterforce, who has a large presence in Canada, is consistently on the watch for opportunities to expand into U.S. territory. “They are very active in acquiring additional accounts,” he said. Founded in 1988, Counterforce offers monitoring services and a variety of support and financial services to its independent network of dealers.
