Dallas repeals response verification policy

DALLAS--The Dallas City Council voted yesterday to repeal its commercial verified response ordinance that had been in effect since March 2006. The ordinance, which required businesses to independently confirm activated alarms in an effort to reduce false alarms, was repealed by an 11-to-4 vote. Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert supported the repeal saying that the ordinance unfairly burdened businesses, according to an AP report.
