Dean Meyer joins Pelco as COO

CLOVIS, Calif.--Video surveillance manufacturer Pelco, recently purchased by TAC parent company Schneider Electric, announced on Tuesday the appointment of former TAC Americas president Dean Meyer as chief operating officer. He will report directly to chief executive officer David McDonald. Jeff Drees will take over as president of TAC Americas (search "Jeff Drees" at www.securitysystemsnews.com). "Dean's addition to our Pelco management group will bring us invaluable TAC/Schneider insight, along with his very impressive general management expertise," said McDonald in a prepared statement. "I have known Dean for some time and feel very fortunate to have attracted him to Pelco to fill this newly created, most important position." According to Pelco, during Meyer's seven-year tenure as president of TAC Americas, he grew that business five fold to its current $500 million annual volume level. Prior to that, Meyer held a number of key management positions within CSI, which later became TAC Americas. Meyer joined TAC in 1993 as product division vice president and managed the Manufacturing, Engineering, Partner Sales, and Customer Service departments. Meyer's previous experience includes manufacturing and purchasing roles at Texas Instruments.
