Dedicated Micros adds traffic surveillance expertise

CHANTILLY, Va. - The addition of Traffic Safety Systems at Dedicated Micros Group is expected to bring the complementary business of digital video recording equipment and the law enforcement surveillance products together.
Dedicated Micros’ parent company in England announced it bought the Aylesbury, England, company that specializes in vehicle-mounted cameras and mobile video surveillance technology in December. Dedicated Micros is known for its multiplexing and digital video technology used to control surveillance equipment.
“Dedicated Micros’ digital video recording equipment is already used extensively by police forces around the world,†said Nigel Petrie, group chairman of Dedicated Micros Group in Manchester, England. “With mobile and rapid deployment CCTV systems becoming increasingly important, the acquisition of TSS provides us with an opportunity to offer specially-designed digital recording products, video servers and related accessories to TSS’ existing customer base and beyond.â€Â
TSS has been in business since 1973 and has provided the United Kingdom law enforcement market with CCTV, lasers and radar equipment for more than 30 years.
