DICE teams up with Cellularm for radio backup

BAY CITY, Mich. - DICE Corp. has partnered with Cellularm of Topanga, Calif., to provide central stations a backup communications solution. This summer, DICE clients can incorporate long-range radio or Alarm over IP service to backup alarm signals using Cellularm’s secure network product, MeshWorks. Through the radio or Alarm over IP backup system, alarm signals communicate directly to a secure DICE *eLink server located at the central station. For a DICE subscriber, integrating a Cellularm MeshWorks network requires a receiving site with an outside antennae and an Internet connection. Currently there are site locations in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, and Phoenix. The intelligent two –way radio network site can be activated anywhere in the country with minimal setup, according to a press release. Dealers have the ability to install UL-listed burglar and fire alarm systems, without the use of any telephone lines. The partnership bodes well for the evolution of monitoring technology. “The speed, accuracy, and the much higher level of security that is achieved will be invaluable to all of our alarm dealers as well as their subscribers," said Michael Hansen, president of Cellularm, in a written statement.
