Diebold's Hillock sets date to retire

NORTH CANTON, Ohio--In June, Diebold announced Michael J. Hillock, president of the company's international operations, has elected to retire at the end of this year. Hillock began his tenure at the company in 1979 as an account manager in the Chicago office, where he had sales and management positions. He then moved to Hong Kong where he served as the managing director of Diebold's Asia-Pacific operation. From there he traveled back to the states to serve as division vice president, then to London as vice president and general manager of sales and service. With his international experience he was tapped as senior vice president of international sales and service. Thomas W. Swidarski, president and chief executive officer, said in a statement that Hillock was instrumental in increasing the company's strong international presence. After serving Diebold for more than 25 years, Hillock will pursue personal interests after he retires.
