DMP signs on for CP-01 compliance

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.--Digital Monitoring Products announced on Dec. 21 that all panels in their burglary control line-up meet ANSI/SIA CP-01 False Alarm Reduction Standards. "In our continued effort to work with SIAC and other false-alarm associations, we have determined that all DMP burglary panels should comply with ANSI/SIA CP-01 standards," said Melissa Pitfield, director of marketing and communications for DMP. The standard covers event recognition, information handling sequences and provisions for system layout testing. CP-01 also strengthens user interface features to increase prevention and recovery from user-called false alarms, according to the Security Industry Association. "DMP recognizes that one of the most serious problems facing the security industry today is the high incidence of false alarms," said Pitfield. "False alarms cost money and time. Reducing false alarms not only helps alarm industry profitability, but enhances the services provided to the end-user." DMP's products that are ANSI/SIA CP-01 compliant are the XR100, XR100N, the XR500N, the XR500E, the XRSuper6, the XR20, and the XR40.
