QUINCY, Mass.--The Department of Defense in July released an updated Unified Facilties Criteria. The UFC provides mass notification standards for government jobs and was th basis for the National Fire Protection Association’s recent mass notification standards. The new UFC includes network-based alerting systems. The NFPA’s Lee Richardson said the committee that is working to update NFPA 72 mass notification standards for 2009 is “cognizant of that document and the new chapter will reflect UFC to the extent that it can.”
