Elmwood Park raising fines to help offset lost revenue

ELMWOOD PARK, Ill.—An Aug. 26 story from ElmwoodPark-Leaves.com reports fines have increased in Elmwood Park for some local ordinance violations.

The biggest increase is for false fire, burglary and intrusion alarms, which has increased to $100 from $15 for false alarm calls in excess of three per calendar year.

In putting together this fiscal year's budget, trustees in April noted any increases in fees would be based on covering administrative costs.
