Gen. Colin L. Powell keynotes ASIS

ORLANDO, Fla.--General Colin L. Powell, the former U.S. Secretary of State from 2001 to 2004, and an expert on the global and national security challenges of this century, will be the keynote speaker at ASIS International's 51st Annual Seminar and Exhibits, held Sept. 12-15 at the Orange County Convention Center here. Over his career, Powell has served in roles ranging from soldier to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. His address will draw on his experiences in defense, diplomacy and public service. Powell will speak on Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the convention center. ASIS officials expect Powell's speech to provide insight on recent security efforts national and abroad. Other general sessions during ASIS include Dr. Ken Blanchard, a management expert and business consultant, who will speak on Wednesday, Sept. 14, from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. On Thursday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. to noon, attendees can participate in a "Meet the Press"-style program, chaired by television commentator Stuart Varney, which is designed to examine key areas of interest to security management professionals.
