Greater Alarm moves regional office

SAN DIEGO - Systems integrator Greater Alarm has moved one of its Southern California branch offices to larger office space that will better house its growing employee and customer operations, company officials announced in late September. The move of the company’s San Diego County branch office from Carlsbad to San Diego will give the branch more breathing room and will relocate that branch’s employees closer to its 300 customers. San Diego County is one of two Greater Alarm branches dedicated to systems integration, while the com-pany’s four other branches handle commercial and residential work. All accounts are monitored at the company’s headquarters in Irvine. Through the new location, the company gained an additional 1,600 square feet, which will be used for more warehousing, more offices and a new engineering room, said Jon Schacht, general manager of Greater Alarm’s San Diego operations. The branch is on track to report a 30 percent increase in sales for 2003. Over the past few months Greater Alarm has added four new employees in its service and installation departments. “Eighty-five percent of our business comes from our existing customers,” Schacht said. “They have expanded their need, so that’s where our growth is from.” The new office location will also allow the company to strengthen relationships with contractors, construction project managers and building owners in California, Schacht said. The San Diego office will join the company’s other locations in the Irvine, Temecula, Sacramento and San Jose areas. The company opened both its San Jose and Carlsbad locations in 2000. A location in Loomis in 1999 served as the systems integrator’s first branch outside Irvine.
