Guardian acquires Wolverine

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.-- Guardian has  acquired Wolverine Electronic Security of Flint, Mich. Terms of the deal were not announced. Guardian gained an undisclosed number of accounts and several new sales people and technicians. It is also advertising for more employees in Michigan.

“We're on the buy,” said Jim Blanchard general manager for Guardian.“Looking for alarm companies with the right price multiples, looking for values, and if the company fits synergistically, all the better.”

Guardian does commercial and residential fire and security work in Michigan, Ohio, Florida and in Canada. It also has a guard business and a medical monitoring business.“Wolverine's mix of business is very similar to ours,” said Blanchard. “About 60 percent commercial and 40 percent residential. They're a local company with a local flavor who took exceptional care of their customers and it was the appropriate time for us to come together.”

Blanchard said Guardian's current “growth is coming from both sides of the business,” Blanchard said Guardian's service is “second to none ... We treat the customer holistically, we listen and we deliver. It's not magic, it's hard work.”
