Hackett continues to add density in Mo.

ST. LOUIS—Hackett Security, a residential and commercial alarm company based here, announced yesterday the purchase of Reli Security Alarms, based in Cape Girardeau. The move is a continuation of the company's plan to move further into southeast Missouri. Hackett's last buy was Secure Tech, based in nearby Jackson, in May of 2009.

Reli was founded in 1988 by Leon Murphy, and serves clients throughout southern Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee as well.

“The Reli acquisition will enable Hackett Security to continue to expand regionally bringing our system design, installation capabilities, and UL listed central monitoring station capabilities to more homes and businesses throughout southeast Missouri,” said Michael J. Hackett, CEO and president, in a prepared statement. “This not only includes houses, apartments and offices, but also schools, colleges, universities and healthcare facilities. Reli has served the area for over two decades and we look forward to building on their outstanding reputation.”

Hackett Security provides alarm installation and security systems integration, along with a UL-listed central station. Founded in 1977, the company now has offices in southern and southeastern Missouri, Chicago and Alton, Ill., and Arizona, in addition to its headquarters here.
