HICKORY CREEK, Texas--The Lake Cities Sun on Aug. 13 reported that at the Hickory Creek town council's June meeting, the council created a new false alarm ordinance for business and home owners operating alarm systems. Each must register and gain a permit with the town to legally use their alarms.
While it is mandatory alarm owners register, there is no charge for registration on private residencies. However, businesses will be charged $50 for intrusion alarms and assesses an extra $50 for businesses that plan to operate a hold-up alarm. This fees are due on an annual basis. The town will grant residents and businesses a 60-day grace period to register where false alarms won't be penalized with fines. The period started June 29 and was set to end Aug. 27.
