IRVINE, Calif.--HiEnergy Technologies delivered two SIEGMA 3E3s to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, and trained 12 police officers to use them over the course of five days. They can detect all types of homemade bombs through steel with 97.5 percent certainty. SEPTA paid $300,000 for each unit. They will be deployed in Philadelphia subways and terminals. Real-world use began in the first week of January.
