Honewell vets form 2GIG Technologies

MELVILLE, N.Y.--Honeywell Security veterans Lance Dean and Scott Simon have joined forces with other security professionals to form 2GIG Technologies, Dean told Security Systems News on March 6.
“It's been in the works for about a year and a half,” Dean said. 2GIG plans to offer a full line of residential security products and services, featuring a self-contained alarm panel with a color touch screen. The company will also offer “a variety of home automation, remote control and energy management features.”
The products are currently in beta testing. Dean expects to bring products to market by the end of the summer and he expects to announce key partnerships over the next several months.
Both Dean and Simon have 20 years in the security business. While at Honeywell, Simon managed the Alarmnet business. Dean managed national accounts.
