IDC to monitor GPS signals for telematics provider AerCom

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.-The International Dispatch Center has signed on to provide a telematics systems and services developer with GPS monitoring for that company's customers throughout North America, according to terms of a memorandum of understanding the two companies signed in early October.
Aiken, S.C.-based AerCom, whose AerTrax system provides asset location reporting, emergency signaling and remote data access, will be able to expand into specialized fleets such as taxis, school buses and trailers.
The agreement with AerCom puts IDC operators at the assistance of AerCom customers to provide two-way voice response to some alarms, as well as aid AerCom in the recovery of stolen vehicles and cargo.
