Identix cashes in on order

MINNETONKA, Minn. - Identix Inc.has been awarded a purchase order from an unnamed law enforcement agency for several Identix TouchPrint 3800 Full-Hand Live Scan Systems. The order exceeds $400,000 in value, and it is in addition to the approximately $500,000 in purchase orders Identix announced two weeks ago from various California law enforcement agencies. The live scan systems under the announced purchase order are expected to ship and be installed in the company’s fiscal 2005 first quarter ending Sept. 30, 2004. According to Dr. Joseph J. Atick, president and chief executive officer of Identix, the company’s systems provide law enforcement with a valuable identification tool. Studies show that up to 30 percent of all latent fingerprints left at crime scenes relate to areas of the hand other than just the fingerprints.
