MINNETONKA, Minn. - Identix Inc., a biometrics technology company, has been selected by a country in the Middle East to supply and integrate the company’s ABIS biometric data mining platform and search engines into the country’s national identification program.
The undisclosed country selected the products to assist in its national security efforts. The deployment of ABIS will screen for duplicates and aliases within the ID database, as well as search against existing databases of facial images for individuals on various watch lists.
Identix began preliminary stage deployment for the program in the company’s fiscal 2005 second quarter ending Dec. 31, 2004, with the majority of the work to be completed by March 31, 2005.
