ISC East returns to New York

NEW YORK - ISC East is making a return to New York in 2004, ending a three-year hiatus from the Big Apple. Reed Exhibitions, managers of the ISC Shows and this year’s National Summit on Security, announced the location decision in late August. The show is scheduled for Nov. 2 – 4, 2004 at the Jacob Javits Convention Center and will now be called ISC East, the National Summit on Security. The return to New York comes after the ISC East show moved to Orlando, Fla., in 2002. “Rotating back to New York has been something that we’ve had in our plans ever since our announcement that we were going to rotate out of New York,” said Dean Russo, industry vice president, ISC events. Jack Mallon, managing director of Mallon Capital based in New York, expects the new date will bode well for ISC. “The problem in the past was their scheduling,” he said. “The last week in August, the pre-Labor Day weekend over time became more or less of a vacation period.” Russo concurred that was Reed’s strategy. “ Part of our strategy is to get out of that late summer timeframe and be more in the fall,” he said. “Obviously, we don’t want to be on top of the ASIS event.”
