Kidde 2004 outlook bright

COLNBROOK, U.K. - Fire protection service and manufacturer Kidde plc reported improving prospects for 2004 in both the company’s residential and commercial as well as in the industrial fire protection business sectors, company officials said in early January. The company’s residential and commercial business saw gains due to partnerships with major U.S. retailers and a new marketing strategy to improve consumer awareness of the need for fire protection and safety in the home. While 2003 saw a return to organic sales growth for the company, the weakening of the U.S. dollar against the British pound impacted company profits.
