Legrand strengthens its presence

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - Legrand North America announced plans to acquire home networking company On-Q Technologies and merge the property with its similarly focused Greyfox division. On-Q Home focuses on residential systems for multi-room audio and video distribution as well as security, and Greyfox develops systems for entertainment, security and communications networking. Legrand North America officials said the group will be known as On-Q/Legrand and remain based at On-Q Technologies’ headquarters in Harrisburg, Pa. On-Q, a privately held company founded in 1999, operated as On-Q Home. Doug Fikse, former president of On-Q Home, will lead the new company as president. Legrand, based in Limoges, France, is the parent company of Legrand North America. Legrand supplies products and systems for electrical installations and information networks. The company reported EUR 2.9 billion ($3.8 billion) in revenue last year. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
