CARLSBAD, Calif. - Linear LLC has made another acquisition, but this time it has purchased a company whose products complement a number of Linear’s existing product brands.
The company, OmniMount Systems in Phoenix, makes audio and video equipment mounting products for the residential and commercial market. Its mounts are expected to work with products from Elan, SpeakerCraft, ChannelPlus, OpenHouse and Xantech – brands that are all part of Linear.
Grant Rummell, president of Linear, said the deal enables the two companies to cross-sell products. He said the acquisition is a strategic move for Linear as it expands its reach in the industry.
OmniMount’s acquisition by Linear comes after two years of steady growth, according to Geoff Miller, executive vice president of OmniMount. The company was founded in 1978 and today offers flat panel mounting systems, speaker stands, CRT mounting systems and products for the audio industry.
For the past several years Linear has made a string of acquisitions in the security and home systems market. Recent acquisitions include SpeakerCraft, Elan Home Systems and Xantech.
