CARLSBAD, Calif.--Electronics supplier Linear added a new company to its dial, plugging in Panamax, a Petaluma, Calif.-based manufacturer of surge protection products.
Panamax, a 30-year-old privately held company, will strengthen Linear's consumer electronics group. In particular, the company's products are used for home theater electronics, satellite TV systems, household appliances and office equipment.
The company is no stranger in the consumer electronics acquisition market having purchased in the past ChannelPlus, Elan Home Systems, OmniMount, OpenHouse, SpeakerCraft and Xantech.
Linear is a subsidiary of privately held Nortek and did not disclose financial details of the deal.
