TORONTO - Bioscrypt has installed 100 fingerprint readers that incorporate HID’s iClass contactless smart card technology for security at Little Rock National Airport. The system will provide access control for about 5,000 users.

According to Julia Webb, vice president of global sales and marketing for Bioscrypt, fingerprinting is the most mature and reliable biometric technology. She added that fingerprinting will be the primary technology deployed in airports in 2004.

The fingerprint readers with integrated HID iClass smart card technology, will be used to restrict access to high profile sites within the airport. Little Rock National is the 79th largest commercial airport in the nation and handles about 2.6 million passengers yearly.
