LoJack enters cargo security market

WESTWOOD, Mass.-LoJack, the company famous for the tracking and recovery of stolen cars, announced Oct. 16 an agreement to become a minority owner of SC-integrity, a Bothell, Wash., company providing solutions for cargo theft prevention, investigation, tracking and recovery. LoJack is investing $3 million in cash and is granting the SC-integrity the right to use the LoJack name, which the company values at $3 million. SC-integrity will now market its current tracking and recovery service as LoJack inTransit. The solution allows shippers, transportation companies, retailers and insurers to track the cargo itself, rather than simply the vehicle or trailer that carries it.
