March Networks makes the cut for Singapore Mass Rapid Transit upgrade

June 3, 2004 OTTAWA, Ontario - March Networks’ digital video recorder systems has been chosen as part of a security system upgrade at Singapore Mass Rapid Transit. The Linux-based DVRs will be used in SMRT stations to add video recording, search and retrieval capabilities to existing and new CCTV cameras monitoring platform and station activities. The current CCTV camera surveillance system has been in place for 17 years. March Networks will add 120 DVR units to this network of 810 cameras. The initial upgrade will occur in 51 stations of the two main SMRT lines and will include DVR installation as well as additional CCTV cameras to augment video recording coverage. The first phase of the project will continue throughout the rest of the year. Further project stages are planned for completion in 2006.
