Megacity acquires Crouch

DAYTON, Ohio--Full-service fire protection firm Megacity Fire Protection acquired Crouch Fire & Safety Products in late February--a deal that expands Megacity Fire's product line, according to the Dayton Business Journal. The acquisition added $700,000 in annual sales and seven new employees, according to the publication. Crouch Fire & Safety will continue to operate as a division of Megacity Fire with the same staff on board. A press release from Megacity Fire stated that the two companies' service areas overlapped and said the acquisition is part of the company's plan to take advantage of growth opportunities in the Dayton area while remaining locally owned and operated. Megacity Fire, a firm started in 1986, has grown to 40 employees with projected sales of $3.5 million in 2005, provides fire products and services and is owned by Larry Gagnon and his wife, Kathleen, reported the Journal. Gagnon declined Security Systems News' request for an interview to further discuss this deal and its impact on the company.
