Milestone dashboard called RMR generator for less complex projects

ORLANDO—Now that it has been vetted by major integrators on large projects, Milestone Systems is trying to get the word out that its new customer dashboard can be an RMR generator for integrators working on less complex jobs.

Introduced at ASIS last September by VMS provider, Milestone, the customer dashboard is used by integrators to monitor the health of the systems at customer sites. The dashboard gives the integrator real-time alerts of potential problems via email or reports.

Free to the integrator, the dashboard can be used on any installation, provided that the end user has a valid SUP (software upgrade plan). The integrator just has to enable the dashboard functionality in the management application. The integrator can charge the end user for the monitoring service as part of a maintenance agreement, making the dashboard an RMR generator.

“We targeted these guys because we believe they have an opportunity to grow their business with this service,” explained Janne Jakobsen, VP of Milestone's professional unit, the business unit for installations of medium complexity for small- to medium-sized businesses.

Jakobsen said updated versions of the dashboard with more features will be available later this year.

While that dashboard was created for smaller commercial installations, Jakobsen said early adopter integrators used the dashboard on very large and complex jobs. Because of demand, Milestone is considering creating a premium version of the dashboard with advanced functionality.
