Mitsubishi expands into cameras, software

LAS VEGAS--Mitsubishi, traditionally a provider of DVRs in the security space, has moved into cameras for the first time and is showing its new line of IP and analog cameras, as well as enterprise level software, in its booth here at ISC West.
"We've evolved into a total solutions company," said Daniel O'Connell, spokesman for Mitsubishi.
The IP cameras support multiple network protocols, so they work with many different environments, and the analog cameras features a wide dynamic range for different lighting conditions, including day- and night-time models.
Mitsubishi is interested in being a single source for digital security solutions, O'Connell said, "our systems are scalable, application specific and part of a complete platform."
To roll out the new product line, Mitsubishi has added to its sales team and will also expand dealer training.
