DALLAS - Third-party monitoring firm Monitronics has endorsed the installation and service of cellular alarm systems by the company’s authorized dealers.
As a result, Monitronics’ authorized dealers are now eligible to receive funding for the accounts that use wireless technology as the primary or back-up means of communication between the alarm system and the central station.
The company said it decided to open cellular-based systems to financing as a result of the popularity of alternative communication technologies. Homeowners have welcomed the cost savings associated with using mobile phones and voice over Internet protocol over traditional landline telephone services.
