DALLAS--Monitronics Intl. reported $41.5 million in revenue for the second quarter that ended on December 31, 2004, an 11-percent increase from the same time period in 2003.
The third-party monitoring firm said revenue for the last six months of the year was $82 million--a 12 percent increase from the year before, when revenue was $73.4 million.
For 2004, its account attrition rate was 12.7 percent, an increase from 11-percent for the previous year. The company attributed the rise in cancelled accounts to a new policy that enables customers to terminate monitoring services with 30 days notice rather than at the end of an annual contract.
