SILVER SPRING, Md.--The National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association released a new industry affairs update that discusses concerns about voice over Internet protocol. NBFAA prepared the paper, Report on Voice over Internet Protocol, for alarm companies and systems integrators that seek clarification of alarm transmission issues over IP telephone lines. Specifically, the report covers topics such as acceptable alarm transmission formats, wiring procedures and back-up power issues. The technical information encompasses both new and existing alarm installations. The report is available for free and can be downloaded at the association's web site at www.alarm.org.
