New ASIS president takes helm

ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Bringing more than 25 years of experience in corporate security management and law enforcement, Shirley A. Pierini became president of ASIS International on Jan. 1.
Pierini currently serves as president of corporate security and safety for Ameriquest Mortgage Corp. in Orange, Calif. For the last 18 years, she has held a number of positions with ASIS, ranging from chapter chair to vice president. She also holds a Certified Protection Professional designation.
Among Pierini’s areas of focus for 2004 are furthering the association’s growth internationally and strengthening its relationship with the Department of Homeland Security. She will also work on developing information technology expertise for ASIS members.
